Accessibility

Cultural safety and access go together. A site that some people cannot use is not doing the job we ask of it.

Last updated September 2026.

What we have done

  • Text and background colours are checked against WCAG contrast ratios, measured on the real page rather than estimated.
  • Every part of the site can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the focus indicator is a visible ochre ring rather than the browser default.
  • Every form field has a visible, permanently attached label.
  • Headings run in order without skipped levels, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
  • Images that carry meaning have descriptions; images that are decoration are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Movement is limited to gentle fades as sections come into view, and it is switched off entirely if your device is set to reduce motion. Nothing on the site depends on that movement to become readable — if it does not run, for any reason, the content is simply there.
  • The site works at mobile widths without sideways scrolling, and supports zoom.

What we have not done yet

We have not had an independent accessibility audit, and we have not tested with screen readers or other assistive technology in real use. So we are not claiming formal WCAG 2.2 AA conformance — we are telling you what we have checked and what we have not.

If something does not work

Please tell us. If any part of this site is hard to use, or you need something here in a different format, call 0413 922 217 or use our contact page. We will help you get what you need and fix the problem.
